Our new offices near Oswestry have been recognised for their outstanding green credentials in a regional award. The project has been awarded the Blue Business Award in the Water Reduction Category for incorporating responsible rainwater management into the scheme. This included rainwater collection and a green roof to reduce runoff, as well as providing a habitat for increased biodiversity.

Charles Lawson, Director of Forge Property Consultants commented, “We are proud to be recognised with this prestigious award. As well as the rainwater aspects of the project the judging panel appreciated the other green aspects of the new building including high levels of insulation, solar PV and biomass heating. The judges also commented on the quality of the general environment around the office which includes a wildlife lake and wild flower meadow. The new office is a clear representation of our corporate responsibility values and has created a fantastic workspace which will help us maintain a good team as we continue to grow.’

The Blue Business Award has been developed by the Environment Agency to encourage businesses to think about how they can play an important role in protecting and conserving our local water environment and share best practice principles across the region.
